Deidra organizes visits to Cinéma Olympia in Cannes for ‘live’ transmissions of the New York Met Opera on Saturday evenings. When available, she posts notices for the live transmissions of the Bolshoi Ballet and La Comédie-Française also at Cinéma Olympia. Also, she posts notices about transmissions of Ballet and Opera performances from The Royal Opera House, London which take place at either CINEMA LE CINETOILES in Le Cannet, or at Cinema Cinétoilein Rocheville.

"When developing the Performing Arts in Cannes schedules during the past four years, I have used the basic principals of reporting. That is, investigating the five ”Ws”.

WHO: researching companies that are offering performances such as, ballet, opera, theatre, and musicals.

WHAT: the title, subject, type of performance: comedy, drama, music, etc.

WHERE: the location of the performance, adding the address, directions, and often buses numbers/stops.

WHEN: the month, day and time of the event.

WHY: it's great to attend a live performance. However the “live streaming” (en direct”) is superb because the artists doing the filming will get us up close to see the actual person performing his or her role, the wonderful stage setting, and the orchestra. And especially for IWCR members attending the dozen or more viewings at CINEMA OLYMPIA, CANNES, for this year and next, I have just reconfirmed with the management that by showing proof of currant IWCR membership, we will get a discount of 5euros.
